Hi there. I'm Lauren Strawbridge.

After devoting many years teaching English composition, research, and rhetoric to college students, I realized my true passion: helping the individual with his/her/their personal academic journey. Now, I specialize in assisting high school students across the DMV with their college applications, guiding them through the writing process for their personal statements (AKA the main Common App essay), supplemental prompts, activity lists, and other written requirements. From short reflections to 20-page research papers, I've read tens of thousands of college-level student essays — and counting — giving me an advantage to knowing what truly stands out from the crowd. 

My students have received college acceptances across the country, from small liberal arts schools, to Big Ten universities, to Ivy Leagues. I aspire to make my clients feel heard and to take pride in their final products. Our collaboration supports ethical practices, ultimately aiding teens in crafting unique, authentic essays and preparing them for their educational adventures ahead.
